Belize

Ambergris Caye is the largest and most developed of all the 200 islands, or cayes, in Belize. The island is situated 18 miles east of the mainland and is separated from Mexico by only a small channel that was originally hand dug by the ancient Maya. The main town on Ambergris Caye is San Pedro. Established as a fishing village long before tourism arrived to Belize, San Pedro still holds it small town charm. Today, golf carts transport you down sandy streets dotted with fun giftshops and open air restaurants.Belize and Ambergris Caye have much to offer travelers looking for something off the beaten path. Diving, Snorkeling, Mayan archeological sites, pristine jungle, incredible wildlife and some of the prettiest water in the world is a sampling of what the small country can offer.
