Borgloon is a village located in the north east of Belgium between the towns of Tongeren and St Traiden surrounded by beautiful countryside.

In Borgloon cycling and walking are very popular and 300kms of safe cycling and walking routes are easily accessible. There are also many churches, castles and monuments to explore.

Tongeren is the oldest town in Belgium and dates back to Roman times. The belfry tower dominates the skyline. It is also home to one of the most famous antique markets in Belgium.

Don’t forget to sample some of the produce from Belgium’s world class breweries.

Laarne is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Kalken and Laarne proper.

The village lies to the east of Ghent, near a former course of the River Scheldt and is notable for its castle. This dates from the twelfth and later centuries, notably, the seventeenth and has been sympathetically restored and re-furnished.

The name arises from the Germanic hlaeri which signifies terrain seen as wooded and marshy.
