Chicago is the largest city in the state of Illinois. It is known as ‘The Windy City’ due to the breezes off Lake Michigan. Chicago’s museums are among the best in the world. Be sure to visit the Shedd Aquarium with dolphins, whales and sharks and the Adler Planetarium with hands-on space exhibits. Chicago is also the birthplace of the skyscraper and the Sears Tower, the Aon Center and the John Hancock Center are in the top five of America’s tallest buildings. Around Lake Michigan are beaches and lakefront parks which are very popular with sun loving residents and visitors alike. Festivals are also a large feature with Taste of Chicago in July and major music festivals in June and August. A superb city destination.
