ecoescape, a UK travel guide for green places to stay and visit has now lauched a website: www.ecoescape.org
The website is hosted on 100% renewable energy and will offer comprehensive details of hotels, campsites, B&B's, attractions, restaurants and pubs around the UK with green credentials. Also the site will offer an open guestbook for visitor, travel news, supplier profiles, and the opportunity for greent travellers to discuss their no-fly adventures.
They main belief is that the only way to reduce carbon emissions in tourism is to holiday nearer to home and cut out flying. The website encourages low carbon travel, providing details of public transport routes and national cycle networks.
Many of the businesses on the site use a variety of environmentally friendly products, such as generating their own energy via wind turbines, solar panels and watermills and sourcing local, organic or fair-trade products.
