Kailua Kona is a seaside town located at the bottom of the Hualalai Volcano. It is located just 7 miles south of the airport. Attractions in the area include Kailua Konas Hulihee Palace, Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park, Captain Cooks Monument and the Kona Coffee industries numerous farms and mills. Activities on offer include tennis, swimming, diving, surfing, fishing, golf, horse riding, paragliding and moutain biking. The Ironman Triathlon is held here every year.

O'ahu is the third largest island in the Hawaiian chain. It is home to about three-fourths of the state's population. Honolulu is the state capitol and the 11th largest U.S. metropolitan city.
