British Airways Launches Offset Scheme

18th January 2008
British Airways has reveiled it's new Carbon Offset Scheme. It uses UN certified emissions reductions to help finance clean energy projects in developing countries.

The airline claims the scheme is more user-friendly as customers can buy their offset in one transaction via the airline's website.

The airline has also agreed to invest in a range of projects including protecting Brazilian rainforests and research into combating greenhouse gases.

BA will also work closely with Cambridge University to establish robust scientific understanding of the non-CO2 effects of aviation by 2012.
