The IATA seems to think it is worth investigating further.
They have just signed an agreement with Solar Impulse - the company behind the solar airplane that will fly around the world with no fuel and zero emissions.
The agreement will establish a framework of cooperation between the two organisations.
The IATA will provide assistance to ensure the smooth passage of the solar plane around the world.
The first prototype is due to take flight in early 2009 which aims to demonstrate the feasibility of flying day and night.
