Israel is a small yet diverse middle eastern country on the eastern edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Its name originates from a verse in the bible. Jersusalem is the capital and largest city in Israel. The geographic features of the country vary vastly from desert in the south to mountain ranges in the north.

Eilat is located at the northern tip of the Red Sea. It is a vibrant resort city made popular by its beaches, sea and nightlife. The area has been called the 'Goa of the Middle East'. It is a city where the sun always shines (it only rains a handful of days each year). The area is famous for its spectular landscape of exposed multicolour rock formations and strata in the Syrian African Rift Valley. Activities on offer in the area include diving around the coral reefs off the coastline, camel tours, desert treks, swimming with dolphins, water skiing, wind surfing and parasailing. Annual events include the Red City Music Festival and the Red Sea Jazz Festival.
