Puerto Rico is an archipelago of islands in the Caribbean Sea east of the Dominican Republic. The islands lie on a main shipping lane to the Panama Canel. The main island is Puerto Rico. The capital and largest city of which is San Juan. The island is mainly mountainous with sandy beaches round most of the coastline.

Carolina is a city located in the northern part of Puerto Rico, bordering the Atlantic Ocean. It is a short distance from San Juan. Carolina is one of Puerto Rico's most important tourist centers and is the home of Plaza Carolina, one of Puerto Rico's largest shopping malls. Places of interest include: Buena Vista Ruins,

Carolina Beach, Grande de Loiza River, Isla Verde Pinero Monument, Jesus T.Pinero Monument, Julia de Burgos Park, Pinones Beach, and Roberto Clemente Ciudad Deportiva.

Rio Grande is located in Northern Puerto Rico. There are a number of places to visit including Coco Beach, Indio Cave, Las Picnas Beach and El Yungue which is a rainforest which is home to the endangered Puerto Rican parrot. There are many hiking trails many of which pass the La Mina waterfalls where you can stop for a refreshing swim in the cool waters. Activities on offer include surfing, golf, tennis, fishing, kayaking, scuba diving, windsurfing, parasailing and riding.

Vieques is an island municipality of Puerto Rico and is located in the northeastern Caribbean. It lies about 8 miles east of the mainland and maintains a strong spanish influence. The island has a warm, relatively dry tropical climate with the temperature varying very little throughout the year.
