Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon, is in Southern Asia. It is an island country in the Indian Ocean, south of India. It is divided into the following regions – Central, Northern, North Central, North Eastern, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Uva and Western.

Western Province is the most densely populated province of Sri Lanka. It is extremely rich with ancient and medieval ruins.There are numerous cultural events including colorful pageants and processions. Many of the events have religious roots. The region has wonderful beaches such as Negambo, Mount L

avinia, Wadduwa, Kalutara Kalido, Moragalla, Beruwala and Kaluwamodara. It is also home to a unique collection of flora and fauna. There are a number of nature attractions including beautiful water falls, rivers, mountains, and forest reserves.
