West Point is located on the south western tip of Prince Edward Island. The towns main attraction is West Point Lighthouse which was built in 1865. It is the Islands tallest and has been converted into an inn. Cedar Dunes Provincial Park is located at West Point and provides a supervised public beach for swimming. Contrary to popular belief, West Point is not the westernmost extreme point of Prince Edward Island; that honour falls with West Cape, several kilometres to the north and slightly west.
