The state is divided into 6 regions: Wasatch Front, Canyon Country, Northeastern Utah, Dixie, Central Utah and Western Utah.

Canyon Country is a region in the state of Utah. It is a wild, sparsely populated area along the southern boundary of the state, with a large number of national parks and monuments offering scenic opportunities galore and many hiking trails and canyoneering routes. The region is home to Moab which has become the hub of tourist activity.It is situated in the red rock country of Southeastern Utah on the Colorado River. Arches National Park is only six miles from downtown and Canyonlands National Park is 32 miles from Moab. The city is surrounded by land which are used activities such as mountain biking, hiking, rafting, rock climbing, and cross-country skiing.
