Avenida 9 de Julio, "The World's widest road", culminates at the city limits where the highway passes over the original Recova de Posadas, a commercial space with varied, high-quality alternatives for dining. Across the Avenida, The Four Seasons Hotel was built ten years ago on the site that was once home to the old, forested park of the equally-as-old Alzaga Unzue Palace. Although most palaces in Buenos Aires have disappeared and been replaced by apartments rentals buildings, some of this neighborhood's early 20th. century mansions remain to this day.

The Atucha Palace is located on Cerrito and Arroyo, and the Ortiz Basualdo Palace, which became the French Embassy in 1939, stands across Arroyo. The Palacio Pereda, home to the Brazilian Embassy since 1943, is admirably placed across from the Plaza Carlos Pellegrini.
