  • News: easyJet launches Sharm el-Sheikh route

    easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, celebrated its new Sharm el-Sheikh route with a camel meet and greet at check-on this morning.

    Bringing a flavour of Egypt to London Stansted Airport, Kokoso the camel was available for all to determine at easyJet’s check-in area today – Monday 25 February.
    To celebrate the launch of its new route easyJet invited pupils from Great Dunmow Primary School to return along to the airport to satisfy Kokoso the camel and his handlers.

    Hugh Aitken, easyJet’s UK Commercial Manager, commented:
    “There isn’t the next strategy to celebrate the launch of our new Sharm el-Sheikh route than by evoking the spirit of Egypt and bringing a camel into the airport for all to determine.

    “The children of serious Dunmow Primary School were beside themselves with excitement about their trip to satisfy Kokoso the camel – it was a good first day back to college after half term for them.”

    Sharm-el Sheikh is certainly one of three new easyJet routes to take-off from London Stansted Airport this year.

    The airline has already started flying to Marrakech in Morocco and Sofia in Bulgaria as a part of easyJet’s expanded summer 2013 schedule which sees 65,000 affordable seats to those destinations available from London Stansted Airport per year.
