London Gatwick served over 2.5 million passengers during March, up by 2.5% at the prior year and the best traffic figures seen in March for 5 years, with the sustained cold weather and the sooner begin to the Easter getaway contributing to the expansion in traffic this month.

Club Carlson to decide to global carbon offsetting initiative

Club CarlsonSM, the worldwide loyalty programme for Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, announced yesterday, Earth Day, that Club Carlson has become the 1st loyalty programme within the hospitality industry to decide to a worldwide carbon offsetting initiative. Carlson Rezidor will offset meetings for all Club Carlson For Planners meetings and events around the group’s six global hotel brands totalling 1,077 hotels in operation worldwide. The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) invites local businesses to arrange for the predicted increase of Chinese visitors to Guam by attending its symposium to be told the newest market trends and the way it may well benefit business. With the support of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), GVB will host a China Outbound Travel Market Symposium on May 22. In Calendar Year (CY) 2012, Chinese outbound departures achieved 83.18 million in total, representing a year-on-year growth of 18.41%. The collection of outbound departures is anticipated to maintain increasing at an ordinary growth rate of over 10% in next 10 years.
