Davies steps as much as global front of house leadership role

Darin Davies, director of front house operations on the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, has recently been appointed president of the Association for Front Office Managers & Deputy Managers of Luxury Hotels. AICR was founded in 1964 by front office leader of several grand hotels within the south of France. The international organisation is represented in 15 countries and has slightly below 1,000 members and gives front office managers of luxury hotels with a useful network offering which include organising the coveted David Campbell Trophy. Darin’s role as president will give him a good insight into the hospitality industry. His new roles and responsibilities will include liaising with members worldwide, expanding the association, planning for the following presidium and receptionist of the year competition in Hamburg. News: UK Summer timetables confirmed travel from Nottingham to Lincolnshire

Nottingham’s railway is undergoing its biggest transformation in a generation.  a prime improvement scheme is currently ongoing to redevelop Nottingham station right into a world-class transport hub, and Network Rail will shortly begin work on a £100 million project to rebuild the rail infrastructure across the city.  This scheme can help to future-proof Nottingham’s railway for the increasing collection of passengers and deliver improved reliability. News: Fireworks and acrobats as Outrigger opens popular in Phuket

Four hundred people attended the sensational grand opening party of the 255-room Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort in Phuket, 4 April. Guest of honour, Phuket Governor Maitri Inthusut, cut the hole ribbon such as Outrigger senior executives and the company’s founding members of the family who had flown in from Hawaii for the occasion.
