DoubleTree by Hilton opens first hotel in South Africa

Hilton Worldwide today announced the official opening of the primary DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in South Africa – the 183-room DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town – Upper Eastside.  Owned and operated by Upper Eastside Hotel (Pty) Ltd under a franchise license agreement, the newly renovated, upscale full-service property is found in Cape Town’s upcoming district of Woodstock, a dynamic area that is home to an abundance of stylish art galleries, boutiques, music bars and classy restaurants. The hotel becomes the fifth Hilton Worldwide property in South Africa and the third DoubleTree by Hilton in Africa. News: UNWTO call on tourists to assist reduce illicit trafficking

In the presence of the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, the area Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) have agreed to launch a brand new public awareness campaign calling on tourists to assist reduce demand for illicit goods and services associated with transnational organized crime. Preparations for the campaign were set in motion in the course of the Spring Meeting of the executive Executive Board of the United Nations in Madrid. A Cooperation Agreement was signed between UNWTO Secretary-General, Taleb Rifai, and UNODC Executive Director, Yury Fedotov within the presence of United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon. News: Ryanair opens new Krakow base

Ryanair has opened its 2nd base in Poland at Krakow with two-based aircraft and 31 routes, so that it will deliver as much as 1.6m passengers p.a. and sustain 1,600 “on-site” jobs, as Ryanair invests over $170m at Krakow Airport. Ryanair celebrated the outlet of its new Krakow base by launching a 100,000 seat sale across its entire European network, with prices ranging from 19zl for travel in May.
