  • News: Travelport extends its reach to Tunisia

    Travelport is extending its footprint in Africa with a brand new distributor operation in Tunisia.  The inside track follows the appointment of SIR Tunisie SARL as Travelport’s new partner in Tunisia and implies that Galileo services turns into available within the country with immediate effect.

    The Tunisian launch is the most recent milestone in Travelport’s expansion in Africa, where the GDS provider is now operating in 47 countries with more within the pipeline.

  • Alps coach driver praised for bravery

    The British coach driver who died in a crash within the French Alps was praised for saving passengers lives.

    The coach, which was travelling from Alpe d’Huez to the united kingdom was carrying 50 staff from tour operator Skibound.

    Three Britons were seriously injured within the incident, which ended in the coach bursting into flames.

    French transport minister Frederic Cuvillier praised driver Maurice Wrightson, 64, from County Durham, for displaying “remarkable courage”. It can be thought that the accident might have been much worse had the coach not bogged down previous to the crash. 

    There will have been a controversy with the vehicle’s breaks, per police.

  • News: Accor plans three new hotels in Myanmar

    Accor is developing three newly built hotels in Myanmar – an MGallery hotel in Naypyidaw, Novotel Yangon Max, and Novotel Mandalay Mingalar – representing the group’s 18th market within the region.

Situated in a chief location, the hotel is near the Maha Muni Pagoda, Mandalay Palace, Shwenandaw Monastery, Mandalay Hill, and a 40-minute drive from Mandalay International Airport. Mandalay is found 716 km north of Yangon at the east bank of the Irrawaddy River and is the second one-largest city in Myanmar.

  • News: Hyatt Place debuts in NYC

    The Hyatt Place Manhattan/Midtown-South has opened its doors, marking the primary Hyatt Place property to debut in Ny city. The recent Midtown Manhattan location represents a move into downtown urban locations for the upscale select service brand, which has grown by nearly 18 percent up to now three years.

    The 185-room property features complimentary wifi access, 250 square feet of flexible, high-tech meeting/function space, an intimate Bakery Café featuring specialty coffees, premium beers, wines and cocktails and 24/7 Gallery Menu serving made-to-order entrees and appetizers.
