  • News: Marriott extends AC Hotels three way partnership

    Marriott International has continued the growth of its three way partnership with AC Hotels with the hole of 2 new properties – the AC Hotel Nice at the French Riviera and the AC Hotel Sant Cugat in Catalonia, Barcelona. 

    The two new hotels shall be welcome additions to the AC Hotels by Marriott brand, which launched in 2011 and now offers over 80 hotels across Europe.

    After an intensive renovation, the AC Hotel Nice opened on April 1st 2013.

    The 143-room downtown hotel overlooks the Mediterranean Sea just steps from Promenade des Anglais. 

    Standout hotel features include a breathtaking terrace with heated swimming pool and a calming hotel Zen garden.

    In addition to 22 suites, the hotel has three conference and banqueting rooms, accommodating as much as 100 guests. 

    The Acropolis Congress Centre is purely a brief distance away making it ideally appointed accommodation for business in addition to leisure travellers.

    The AC Hotel Nice is the second one AC Hotel by Marriott hotel to open in France joining the AC Hotel Ambassadeur Antibes-Juan Les Pins, which opened last summer. 

    Another French property, AC Hotel Paris Porte Maillot, was announced in September 2012 and is about to open in early 2014.

    The newly opened AC Hotel Sant Cugat is conveniently located within the business area of Sant Joan.

    The hotel has 152-rooms and a number of other function rooms for meetings and events.

    The hotel’s AC Lounge is , multi-purpose space open 24 hours where guests can relax with free Wi-Fi.

    The affluent suburb of Sant Cugat del Valles is abundant with beauty and heritage and has convenient connections to central Barcelona. 

    Local attractions include the Benedictine monastery of Sant Cugat and the medieval castle Castell de Canals.

    The new hotels join over 80 existing AC Hotels by Marriott throughout France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. 

    AC Hotels by Marriott is a part of Marriott Rewards, among the world’s largest hospitality loyalty programmes with over 37 million members.

  • Rezidor opens and signs ten hotels in Q1 2013

    Rezidor, probably the most dynamic hotel companies worldwide and a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, signed five new hotels with over 1,000 rooms and opened five properties with 940 rooms within the first quarter of 2013. On the end of Q1 2013, Rezidor’s operating portfolio comprises 338 hotels with over 74,000 rooms in 56 countries across Europe, the center East and Africa.

  • News: British Airways takes to the air for Tenerife

    The inaugural British Airways flight to Tenerife has taken to the skies from London Gatwick, with an entirely full quota of shoppers on board.

    The inaugural flight was hosted by British Airways’ account manager, Lucie Wesley, who welcomed aboard VIPs from Tenerife.

    Guests included the island’s president, Ricardo Melchior and the executive executive of the Tenerife Tourism Corporation, Miguel Ángel Santos.

    They were accompanied by 200 customers who joined them at the BA2730 flight.

    Melchior commented: “We are thrilled to welcome British Airways back to the island of Tenerife.

    “These new flights are already proving incredibly popular and perfectly complement the wonderful quality accommodation options we will be able to offer visitors to our island.”

    The UK is the most important overseas outbound marketplace for Tenerife, with nearly 1.6 million British tourists travelling to the island in 2012.

    Peter Simpson, British Airways’ Gatwick director, added: “Tenerife is a destination that especially appeals to the united kingdom market resulting from its year round sunny climate, the variety of its landscape and beaches and the wealth of activities it may offer.”

    The new British Airways service operates five times per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and provides the 1st business-class service for 5 years from the united kingdom to the island.

    British Airways’ new “hand baggage only” fares also are available in this route.

  • HOTELEX Shanghai 2013 concludes with applause

    Co-organised by the Shanghai Tourism Bureau, China Tourism Hotel Association, and Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo, HOTELEX Shanghai 2013 has successfully concluded on April 3rd on the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), welcoming an amazing 70,557 visitors with an exhibiting area of 130,000 square meters.
